Partying on the beach with the wind in your hair, free of the stifling walls of nightclubs, is something even the most crowd-averse curmudgeon should experience at least once. Many public beaches all over the United States have become increasingly strict about large gatherings, but that is no reason to rule out the beach as a location for your next party. Plus, there are always those famous beaches abroad that welcome reveling tourists. Here are some of the world’s best beaches for partying.

Partying on the beach with the wind in your hair, free of the stifling walls of nightclubs, is something even the most crowd-averse curmudgeon should experience at least once. Here are some of the world’s best beaches for partying.

#15 Oak Island Beach, Oak Island, N.C.

Oak Island, North Carolina, didn’t just make this list because of its stellar views and clean sand. With 65 public beach access points, it is one of the most welcoming beach towns in the country. Oak Island allows eating and drinking on the beach, and it’s home to eight different parks sure to suit everyone’s preference, whether you're looking for fishing, barbecuing, or recreational sports.

#14 Atlantic Dunes Park, Delray Beach, Fla.

#13 Venice Municipal Beach, Venice, Fla.

Don’t write off this largely unsung Florida spot. Venice, Florida, is much less popular than Fort Lauderdale or Miami — or Venice Beach, California — which means fewer tourists to cramp your holiday plans. A short walk from the main nightlife street of Tamiami Trail, Venice Municipal Beach also has free parking, public volleyball courts, and a picnic area to add to your beach experience.

#12 Super Paradise Beach, Mykonos, Greece

While Super Paradise Beach on Mykonos Island is rockier than most partiers like their beaches to be, the liberal, nudist-friendly beaches, turquoise waters, and energetic spirit — you’ll see people partying mid-afternoon, as though the sun never rose — make this one of the best beach destinations in the world. Look no further than the Super Paradise Beach Club for a fun night out, or eat fresh oysters from the Aegean Sea at Jackie O’ Beach Club.

#11 Isla Blanca Beach, South Padre Island, Texas

This beach is a popular spring break destination for college students in March, but that doesn’t mean it should be forgotten during the rest of the year. Edwin K. Atkin Park is a public beach that is close to a number of activities for all ages, from Schlitterbahn Waterpark to a host of bars and restaurants. Amenities like a beachfront picnic pavilion will suit all of your barbecue needs. Just 10 minutes from popular spots like the Wanna-Wanna Beach Bar & Grill, this beach is a great place for your summer celebrations.

#10 Wildwood Beach, Wildwood, N.J.

This Jersey Shore beach’s proximity to attractions like the boardwalk and the beachfront amusement park, which makes for a very picturesque backdrop, make it a shoo-in for our list. There are more than 100 rides and three beachfront waterparks to trigger your endorphins. And at night, Wildwood is home to a variety of clubs and bars, such as Irish sports bar Cattle 'n Clover and Caribbean-inspired Flip Flopz Beach Bar and Grill. Outdoor activities like fishing and volleyball are made easy with rentals and courts right on the beach.

#9 Big Bay State Park, Madeline Island, Wis.

Madeline Island is an unlikely place for your summer holiday plans. However, because the island is only three miles wide, bars and restaurants in the area are never too far away. The famed Tom’s Burned Down Café, which was featured on The Daily Meal’s list of Best Beach Bars, promises a no-frills, casual beach atmosphere without sacrificing a seriously good time. Picnic and camping sites that overlook the lake are plentiful on this beach, which was named one of America’s Top Secret Beaches by Budget Travel Magazine in 2011.

#8 Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Legendary is the only way to describe this beach. While it draws many international crowds, being one of the most famous beaches in the world and all, party-lovers must add a night at this beach to their bucket lists. It might be nearly impossible to go here in summer 2016, when the Olympics will take place, but you can rest assured that Copacabana Beach will probably stay a party beach for many years to come — especially on New Year’s Eve. A lot of the best street food in Rio is right along the beach. The only reason this iconic beach isn’t higher on the list is because of the high tourist factor — and, well, let’s just say you’re cleaner in the sand than you are in the water.

#7 Ocean Beach, Fire Island, N.Y.

Fire Island is the Hamptons’ relaxed, cool younger sister. For young people who want to get out of the city but aren’t trying to rub elbows with the rich and famous, Fire Island is the place to be. Ocean Beach is one of the public beaches on the island, and it’s within walking distance from some of the island’s most fun spots, like Bocce Beach and Matthew’s Seafood. Though you can’t eat on the beach (that’s part of the reason it's so clean!), the superior restaurant and bar scene is available to provide sustenance for your daylong festivities.

#6 Redondo Beach Pier, Redondo Beach, Calif.

There's live music on the pier almost every night of the week, and a visit will make your beach vacation worthwhile. One of many beach areas in Los Angeles County, Redondo Beach boasts an impressive nightlife and restaurant repertoire. Though there aren’t any picnic areas beachside, a stroll on the pier is sure to give you a host of dining options. Check out Old Tony’s on the Pier, which made our list of Best Beach Bars.

#5 Rehoboth Beach, Rehoboth, Del.

Named one of America’s Best Little Beach Towns by Travel and Leisure in 2013, Rehoboth is a classic beach town that isn’t marred by the quantity of tourists that you might find in other parts of America. Rehoboth Beach even has a bandstand, which hosts more than 50 free live musical acts over the course of the summer. There is also pavilion seating nearby to host larger gatherings. Veteran nightlife spots like the Rusty Rudder are low-key options that still promise a great time.

#4 Anjuna Beach, Anjuna, Goa, India

Goa, particularly Anjuna Beach, is known for being one of the places where electronic and trance music started to blossom. There is even a style of music called “Goa trance,” a mixture of the folk music often enjoyed — and played — by the many hippies who settled near Anjuna in the early ‘70s and the earliest iterations of computer-generated house music. In other words, dancing all night is highly encouraged, though increasingly stringent laws are starting to crack down on noise pollution. For legendary trance parties, go to Curlies. If you stay up late enough, hawkers begin to populate the beach and sell omelette sandwiches and Maggi noodles (the Indian version of ramen), and you’ll see both locals and tourists flock to end their nights with something hearty and delicious.

#3 Serenity Point, Topsail Beach, N.C.

ID 101767391 © Jeiel Shamblee |

Like Oak Island in North Carolina, Topsail Beach boasts a high number of public access points. Topsail Beach also allows eating and drinking oceanside, and it scored high on this list due to its proximity to classic beach bars like Gilligan’s, a neighborhood tavern by day and dance club by night. Serenity Point is surrounded by a park that allows for a casual beach and barbecue experience that you can follow up with an activity-packed evening.

#2 Cala Jondal, Ibiza, Spain

Ibiza is one of the first places that comes to mind when we think of partying on the beach, thanks to a Vengaboys song and the many celebrities who have been spotted having a great time at the ritzy Cala Jondal. Though this beach is more refined than others on the island, party hotspots like Blue Marlin remind you that you are definitely still in Ibiza, and with Ibiza Town only a 15-minute ride away, you have plenty more options for spots where you can dance the night away. For food, don’t miss the experience of eating at the island’s many “chiringuitos” (small bars selling drinks and tapas).

#1 Haad Rin, Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand

ID 70334458 © Phurinee Chinakathum |

Famous for its monthly “full moon parties,” Had Rin is a peninsular beach area consisting of two main beaches: Sunset Beach and Sunrise Beach. The idea is that you should stay awake to see both, with no sleep in between. With the exception of the monthly party, the beaches are pretty calm, albeit not without the expected litter. But don’t worry, partiers: the nearby bars are always ready to host wild nights. Head to Cactus Bar to dance and watch “fire shows” in which performers create fantastic formations out of fire.

Shopska Salata

According to Bulgarian tradition, Shopska Salata or the Shopska salad is what newlyweds sit down and eat as their first meal together after the ceremonies. The recipe may seem simple, with just a few fresh cut vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and peppers as ingredients.

Fresh Juicy Goodness!

What you’re often missing though is the traditional Bulgarian white cheese or ‘Sirene’ that is grated on top of the veggies, giving this salad its unique flavour. The name ‘Shopska’ was apparently inspired by a big group of very frugal folks called the ‘Shopi’ who are of Bulgarian ethnicity, often living in the mountainous regions of the country.

Kebapche is a variation of one of the most classic dishes of our time across the world: (drumroll please) The Kebab. ‘Kebapche’ as they are called in Bulgaria contain minced meat, spices, and herbs rolled into a long sausage-like roll.

What sets the Bulgarian kebab apart is the fact that Bulgarians grate Sirene, their white cheese, on top of the roll. The kebapche is a great snack for when you are on the go in Bulgaria. At Sofia, a plate would cost you approximately 5.5BGN.

19 Dinner Party Ideas That Look Fancy but Are Super Easy

Dinner parties always seem like a great idea. Good food, good company, no corkage fees, and no need to leave your home. But if you’re the host, throwing a dinner party can easily turn you into a ball of stress.

Often, you spend half the day prepping, and it always takes longer than you think it will. The guests arrive on time, and you’re still frantically zooming around in the kitchen.

Not to mention, sometimes that beautiful recipe you found ends up looking like a Pinterest fail and tastes mediocre at best. Just like that, going out to dinner feels well worth the splurge.

But there’s no need to throw in the towel. We’ve got tips on how to throw a successful dinner party. Hosting a dinner party can be a blast — and these 19 fancy-looking but super-simple dinner recipes prove it.

1. Slow-cooker beef ragu with pappardelle

Slow cookers are the secret ingredient to happy cooking. The magic happens in the pot, and you don’t even have to be home while it does.

Prep the meat in the morning, let it simmer for 6 to 10 hours (leaving plenty of time for a workout, massage, and more), and the rest can be prepped in less than 10 minutes.

Your house will smell like heaven, you’ll hardly be in the kitchen, and the end result will taste anything but effortless.

2. Soy-lemon flank steak with arugula

A grill is a dinner party host’s best friend. Make the marinade in the morning for the best flavor.

And then you’re ready for the party.

The steak will need just a few minutes of grilling on each side and a few more minutes to rest. Make this meal more special by getting the arugula and cheese from a farmers market.

3. Sweet potato noodles with chorizo, roasted red pepper, and spinach

Nothing says “Dig in!” like a plate of veggie noodles. Throw in some chorizo, hearty vegetables like spinach and red pepper, and a slew of herbs and spices, and you’ve got a real crowd-pleaser.

Feel free to swap in Italian sausage if chorizo isn’t for you, and experiment with bitter greens like broccoli rabe. Baking the noodles gives the squash an al dente texture and tempts us to never go back to wheat pasta.

4. Salami, jalapeño, and olive pizza with honey

Pizza dinner party? We’re in. Homemade pizza is easy when you use store-bought dough and jarred sauce. Just remember not to overload the dough with toppings, so you don’t end up with a soggy crust.

Sprinkling the outer rim with “everything bagel” seasoning gives the crust a special crunch.

5. Spicy sausage, kale, and whole-wheat orecchiette soup

If you’re feeding a big group, this recipe will make a big batch of a hearty soup in just one pot. We’re big fans of the genius soup hack used in this recipe: mixing grated cheese into the broth to add flavor and richness.

Pair with a crusty loaf of multigrain bread.

6. Baked chicken meatballs with garlic-dill yogurt sauce

Homemade meatballs in less than 30 minutes? ’Tis true. Simply combine ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, herbs, and spices. Roll the mixture into bite-size balls and bake.

While we’d usually tell you to prep the sauce in advance, this one can be made while the meatballs are in the oven. We love serving this over zucchini noodles or in warm pita bread.

7. Easy weeknight chicken curry with cucumber yogurt and roti

Entertaining a bunch of spice-lovers? This simple curry creates an awesome aroma of Indian spices. Your guests will be drooling when they walk in the door.

Pro tip: Prep in advance. That way all you have to do is toss things into the pot and give it an occasional stir. Start cooking the chicken about 20 minutes before guests are set to arrive.

8. French onion chicken

Don’t let the cooking time fool you: This recipe is a breeze. The majority of the time is dedicated to simmering the onions in butter (hello, savory house scent!) and roasting shortly before serving.

Aim to add things to the oven right before guests arrive so you have time for a glass of wine and a chat before it’s time to assemble and serve the meal.

We’ll never turn down melted cheese, but feel free to opt out of the Gruyere topping to keep things cheese-free.

9. Maple-glazed sheet pan salmon

Take 15 minutes to prep this dish ahead of time, and then put the salmon and veggies on a sheet pan and cook for 25 minutes. You’ve got an impressive, healthy, company-worthy entree loaded with Brussels sprouts, delicata squash, and radicchio.

Plus, you’ve only got one pan to clean. Check out the recipe here.

10. Seared ahi tuna with chimichurri sauce, arugula, and avocado

This recipe calls for sushi-grade tuna. It’s important to use high-quality tuna because the inside remains mostly raw.

Shopping is the hardest part of this tuna recipe. Nothing, and we mean nothing, is as simple and quick as searing. This is a good dish for dinner parties that start with an appetizer, since it’s easy to leave the crowd and come back minutes later with the main dish.

The arugula and chimichurri can be prepped in advance in minutes. Check out the recipe here.

11. Moules à la marinière

Mussels steamed in white wine are absolutely delicious. And they couldn’t be easier. Toss the mussels in a big pot with wine, onions, and fresh herbs and cook on high heat for 5 minutes, until the mussels open.

Serve with oven fries or a loaf of crusty bread to soak up the buttery juices. Check out the recipe here.

12. Roasted sweet potato pitas with arugula and garlic dressing

This vegetarian dish gets its robust flavor from the homemade garlic dressing and is filled with beautiful, fresh ingredients like lightly dressed arugula, red onion, and roasted sweet potato.

The dressing can be made ahead to shave off prep time, and the rest is a matter of roasting followed by quick, easy assembly.

This dish is perfect for vegetarians and meat eaters alike and friendly to both the waist and the wallet. Heat the pitas right before serving for a freshly baked texture and an extra-nice touch.

13. Cauliflower steak with olive and caper salsa

It doesn’t get simpler or more beautiful than roasted cauliflower steaks. The salsa can be made well in advance — the more time it gets to marry, the more flavor it yields. The steaks are done in two simple steps: Slice and then roast.

Pair with a simple side salad and farro or quinoa. Check out the recipe here.

14. Grilled bruschetta portobello mushrooms

We’re all about anything with garlic butter. We’re also all about dishes that can be thrown together in 15 minutes flat. To cut down on cooking time, prep the tomato mixture (sans basil) the morning of and leave it in the fridge to lightly marinate.

Serve with an equally easy-to-prep Caesar salad and fresh multigrain bread — trust us, you’ll want it to soak up every last drop of garlic butter.

15. Eggplant cannelloni

This dairy-free recipe uses cashews in a tasty spinach and basil filling. It requires soaking the cashews the night before. And soaking yields the best result, so don’t skip it.

Another favorite trick: going with store-bought tomato sauce. All you have to do is roast or grill the eggplant slices, fill ’em, top with sauce, and pop them in the oven right as guests arrive.

Pour glasses of wine and relax until the timer goes off. Check out the recipe here.

16. Stuffed za’atar-roasted acorn squash with pepper-lemon tahini sauce

Za’atar is one of our favorite Mediterranean spices — or rather, mix of spices, which can include thyme, sumac, and sesame seeds.

We also love that this flavorful dish is packed with nutritious ingredients like chickpeas, kale, and quinoa.

17. Zucchini bake with farro and ricotta

How do you make zucchini and grains delicious? With melted cheeses — ricotta, mozzarella, and fontina, to be exact.

This recipe requires minimal effort in the kitchen, but it’s important to start cooking well in advance since the recipe takes about an hour from start to finish.

Whole grains taste better when they’re toasted before cooking. Heating the dry farro gives it a nuttier flavor.

18. Creamy roasted red pepper tomato soup

Soup made from scratch doesn’t have to be a pain. The heaviest lift in this vegetarian recipe is grilling (or broiling) the red peppers, which takes only 5 to 15 minutes.

Everything else happens in the pot, and most of the magic happens while it simmers — meaning you can drink that much-deserved glass of wine and even set the table.

To keep things simple, opt for an immersion blender since transferring the ingredients to a standing blender means extra labor (and likely a lot of spilling).

19. Veggie black bean enchiladas

Surprise your guests with the bean-and-veggie filling in these enchiladas. Sometimes the tastiest meals come from the least-expected combos.

Double the recipe for a big group (or for leftovers), and make the sauce in advance to keep things easy the night of the party.

This recipe is easily adapted. For folks who eat meat, use rotisserie chicken in place of the black beans. If you’re looking for even more veg, add mushrooms to the veggie mixture. Serve with extra napkins and don’t be shy about licking your plate.

It's smooth, bold, light, and Grey Goose Le Melon. Did you know that instead of going to Starbucks all the time, you could spend that money on 27 liters of Grey Goose? That's a very beautiful thing.

Citron, a.k.a. citrus is always trendy for the warmer weather, and the flavor in this vodka is no joke. A little goes a long way, so you could keep drinking all summer long without breaking the bank.
